ABOUT

Ashley Neyra is a Peruvian American multimedia journalist born and raised in Maryland. She is currently a journalism student at the Philip Merrill College of Journalism at the University of Maryland. 

 

She is passionate about telling community-centered stories that highlight culture and identity.

 

Ashley serves as a staff photographer for The Diamondback and is the president of the National Association of Hispanic Journalists (NAHJ) student chapter at the University of Maryland. She is also the first director of videography for La Voz Latina, which is the bilingual publication at the University of Maryland.

Bilingual in English and Spanish, Ashley uses her reporting and photography to uplift underrepresented voices and capture raw, meaningful moments.
